Just asking, because I am certain I didn’t bump it, only being one day. Here’s the link:  http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/17683/what-to-do-about-an-over-eager-complainer#latest

That’s a good question. I wasn’t the admin who closed it. Actually, I would have kept it open - there wasn’t a reason given for its closure by the closing admin and it seems like a perfectly good thread that was still in the middle of a discussion. Unless there’s a good reason to have closed it, I would reopen it.

I didn’t close it, but I can see several reasons why it might have been closed…

If there is a conflict with a specific user, the best course of action would be to contact an admin privately to deal with the matter. In fact, it’s not particularly useful to “report” on the forums that a user is annoying the admins… if admins are in fact being annoyed, wouldn’t they handle it themselves?

Secondly, and more importantly, we should not be speculating about the age of users, which is a big no-no here. I would expect any admin to recognize this and put a stop to it.

The user in question is probably acting in good faith, and it is unfair to single him/her out, speculate about his age, and then suggest that the username be mentioned to publicly shame him or her.

Feel free to disagree with me, but I don’t think the thread was appropriate, and the admins reserve the right to close threads that we deem inappropriate.
