Hi Everyone! This year Wikimania was in Hong Kong, and I went over to represent wikiHow, and to talk specifically about the launch of our new Chinese language site ( zh.wikiHow.com ). And boy do the Wikipedians think wikiHow is cool! It was an awesome experience to hear so many people talk praise about wikiHow! Over the course of the weekend I had talks with multiple Wikipedians (specifically Taiwanese and Chinese Wikipedians) about zh.wikiHow.com , and the response was overwhelmingly positive. People were really into it:slight_smile:I did a few interviews with Chinese press that are coming out over the next few weeks (a lot of talk about how awesome our community is), and wound up in front of some Chinese news cameras using a translator to sing wikiHow’s praises. Separately, one of the issues that is hotly debated/discussed at Wikipedia is their gender imbalance (something wikiHow is awesome with, and something Krystle gave a talk on last year). Krystle’s talk was referenced multiple times throughout the weekend – she’s an authority/reference when it comes to ways to help create gender balance! Check out the below pictures too… the first one is the wikiHow logo on all of the registration bags, the second one is our add for zh.wikiHow.com in the inside back cover of the program, and the third is a photo of volunteers (the guy is wearing a wikiHow sticker on his shirt!) – we put stickers in the registration bags, and the volunteers took to sticking them on themselves all weekend.
