Can you do witchcraft and be religious?
I am a Christian and I also really like witchy things. Could i do rituals and make rose water as well as be a Christian? I wouldn't be an "evil" witch. And if I can't be both, why should I give up my religion for witch, or vice versa? I don't know, and I need your advice.

The answer to this question totally depends on who you ask. Some people would say that Christians should not practice witchraft, and the Bible says to not engage in other kinds of worship. However, the Bible also says you can’t wear clothing of different fabrics (Deuteronomy 22:11), eat shellfish (Leviticus 11:9-12), or be a woman who doesn’t wear a hat or scarf in public (1 Corinthians 11:6), and most Christians don't follow those rules. Plus, the Biblical passages about avoiding witchcraft were written at a time when people thought sorcery and spellcasting were a real phenomena, while most modern Wiccans, Pagans, and Hermetic Magick followers treat most of the rituals and spells as symbolic.
There are over 45,000 Christian denominations active right now, and all of them disagree over what does and doesn’t count as “real” Christianity. The Bible makes it clear that God’s love is powerful enough to overcome a lot—and that probably includes something as minor as making rose water or doing personal rituals that aren’t harming anyone. It's okay for you to do what feels right to you, without giving up either your religion or your witchcraft practices.

It is definitely possible to get into witchcraft and be a Christian at the same time. For example, my mom is Italian and I was raised Roman Catholic. My Nonna, who's from Italy, practiced what people today might consider witchcraft, but it wasn't that to her. It was her "folkways". Today, I incorporate the saints, God, Jesus, the Universe and other deities into my practices, but that's unusual. That's just my eclectic practice and the way I do it, but I have friends that are Christian who only practice with Jesus or God, but they'll add in the earth elements to their work. Instead of just saying a prayer, they may go outside and work with the trees and work with nature and calling God, but if you think about it, if you come from a Christian background, God created everything. In my opinion, a lot of the beliefs and practices within Catholicism echo practices that today people might call witchcraft. From saging the church, to the May crownings, to offerings of blood and body, it's all kind of related in some ways to a folk magic perspective. So, yes, definitely, in my opinion you can feel empowered to incorporate Christianity in your witchcraft. There's a lot of Christian witches out there.

You know what? My life is pretty similar. I've been a witch for 2 years, and I have to hide it from my Christian family because they don't accept it. If you don't want to be a Christian and just be a witch (Wiccan), that's a very good path to take. I've learned many truths through that religion, but this is obviously up to you and what you think is right. The Christian bible is VERY against witchcraft. I don't mean this to pressure you, but you can't really be both. It's up to you. What do you believe is true?

Give up witchcraft to follow God our Creator and Redeemer as a Catholic. It might be hard in this life, but if you make it to heaven you will be glad you gave up witchcraft. Perhaps try saying a little prayer every morning, something like "Lord Jesus, I am having a hard time avoiding witchcraft. Please help me nearer to You so I can reside with You in Heaven forever. Thank you Jesus."
