wikiHow Lasagna Recipe Ingredients: * 1 pound lasagna noodles * 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (or mushrooms or other veggie substitute) * 1 large onion, diced * 3 cloves garlic, minced * 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes * 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste * 2 teaspoons salt * 1 teaspoon black pepper * 1 teaspoon dried basil * 1 teaspoon dried oregano * 15 ounces ricotta cheese * 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese * 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese * Fresh parsley, chopped (optional) Instructions: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium-high heat until browned. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the onion is softened. Add the diced tomatoes (with their juice), tomato paste, salt, black pepper, basil, and oregano to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese. To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat with another layer of meat sauce, noodles, and cheese. Top with a final layer of noodles and meat sauce. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the lasagna. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired. Page
