Spicy foods, such as chili peppers, hot sauce, salsa, and spicy seasonings, can cause pain and irritation to your mouth after an extraction.
Acidic Foods
Like spicy foods, acidic foods can also irritate your mouth and cause pain after an extraction. Be on the safe side and avoid alcohol, carbonated drinks, citrus fruits, coffee, pineapple, and tomatoes.
Hot Foods
Avoid eating anything heated; the hot temperatures can lead to dry mouth.
Crunchy, Chewy, Tough, and Brittle Foods
These types of foods can get lodged in your wound(s) and interfere with the healing process. Avoid foods such as chips, crackers, anything with tiny seeds, hard candy, jerky, nuts, pizza, popcorn, pretzels, and steak.
