Ever feel like people are more socially active than you? If yes, here are a few ways to act like you are very social.

  1. Try to talk more about stuff you saw online or something that your friend sent you this makes you seem more active and social. Be more knowledgeable about current topics and issues in the world that you can relate to with others. Become more aware of the world you live in.
  2. Don't be gloomy and act bored. Try to always smile at people and have a cheerful expression to communicate your feelings. To lighten the mood play some music by the latest artists, people will think you know what music is current. If they don't like the song play a different one that matches their personality.

  3. If people expect you to be on your iPhone more than your computer, just type in "Sent from my iPhone" at the bottom of the screen. However, the best way to be very social is to eliminate the art of technology or, at least, to a lesser degree. Being on your phone for the majority of the day takes away the opportunity to interact with the world. For example, when you are waiting in a checkout line, be more communicative. Start a conversation with the person next to you instead of having your face in an electronic device. In other words, interact with the world a bit more than usual.
  4. To give your friends, family, or whoever the idea that you are social, begin to document your life either through a social media site, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Take pictures of the party you attended and post them at a later time. When at the party, do not sit in a corner and be on your phone the whole time. Get into the mood of the party, take some selfies, videos, or group pics. Also, being social has more to it. Instead of only attending when invited, ask a couple of friends out for lunch or movie.
  5. Instead of pretending to be social, the best way for others to perceive this quality in you is to actually become more social. If you are a shy type of person, get out in the community. If you have trouble talking to people or a group, volunteer at a local museum, where you can interact with a diverse group of individuals. Preferably a museum with docent-led tours. This will heighten your communication skills and make your sociable. That being said, always attempt to become a better you; not into someone you are not.

It could be because it gives them the opportunity to make new friends and to see what's going on in people's lives.
  • Question
How do I know my best friend actually cares about me? She talks to me most of the time, but other times she talks with her other friends at lunch and P.E.
    Community Answer
It sounds like she just has other friends. It's good to have a lot of friends. Does she act like she cares about you? Does she take an interest in what you say and act like your feelings are important? Is she nice to you? If you tell her secrets, does she keep them? If you feel left out sometimes, just tell her, or better yet, make friends with her other friends and you can all talk together at lunch or during P.E.

      Tips

      • The more questions you ask, the more likely it is you will sustain a person's interest. If you only talk about yourself, what you like, and what you do, the conversation would be very one-sided and may bore people.
      • To help boost confidence, try to look in the mirror at least three times a day for at least two minutes at a time. Look at yourself in the eyes and just smile. Think about how beautiful or handsome you are, and if you would like, you could even practice talking to yourself.
      • Compliment people, so they'll feel like you're a friendly person who can easily get along with others. Don't go around saying mean things about other or spreading rumors.
