Do you have an HEIC image that you want to convert to JPG (or JPEG), but you're not sure how? 3Choose your file. Your HEIC image must already be on your computer. If it's not, transfer it over using your email or a cloud service like iCloud or Dropbox.
- You can choose more than one image to convert at a time. Simply hold down Shift while clicking to select a group of files that are next to each other, or hold down Ctrl while clicking to select files that aren't next to one another.
Tip: Don't upload personal or private photos to a converter website. While reputable conversion sites have a layer of security protecting your data, it's always better to be safe than sorry. The best way to keep your personal or private data safe is never to upload it online.
-
4Click the red Convert button. Your image will immediately begin converting. If you are converting more than one image, it may take a few moments for the conversion to complete.

Transfer the HEIC file to your computer. While you may need to convert an HEIC file to JPG for some applications, most modern PCs running Windows 10 or 11 can view HEIC files like any other image file. If the image isn't already on your computer, transfer it over using your email or a cloud service like iCloud or Dropbox.

2Navigate to the image file in File Explorer. File Explorer is pinned to your taskbar by default, and has an icon of a yellow folder. Use the left-hand sidebar to navigate to the folder where your HEIC file is located.
-
Double-click on the HEIC file. The HEIC file won't have a thumbnail preview like other image files, but you can still open the image to view it. By default, Windows will open the HEIC file in the Photos app. If you want to view it in a different app, right-click the file, hover the Open with option, then choose the program you want to view the file in.
- Not all programs will support HEIC files, but many do. If you just want to view the file, the default Windows Photos app can open HEIC files without any problems.
