Easy steps to email a video with Gmail

Do you have a video you want to share through email? With Gmail, you can send a video as an attachment if it's 25 megabytes or less. If the file size is larger than that, you can share the video as a Google Drive link. Here's how to email video clips via Gmail using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.

  2. Type in the email address of the person to whom you want to send your video clip.
    • You can also add a subject by clicking the "Subject" text field and typing, as well as body text by clicking the main email field and then typing in your message.

  1. Upload your file to Google Drive . If the video you want to send is too large to attach to a regular Gmail message, you can use Google Drive to email it. Google Drive users get 15 GB of storage for free. If you need more storage than this, you'll need to pay for a Google One membership . You can upload files up to 5 TB in size. To upload a file, do the following:
    • Open the Google Drive app. If you don't have the app, download it from the App Store or Google Play Store first.
    • Tap Add + .
    • Tap Upload or Upload file .
    • Select the video you want to upload.

    Usually this is due to the permissions you have set for the file. In order to enable downloading, you should go to "Share" and type in the email of your recipient(s). Once you have done that, set their permissions to "Can Edit". They should be able to download the file now.
