Finding Friends on X/Twitter
To find someone using their phone number, you must first sync your contacts to your account. Go to Settings and privacy > Privacy and safety > Discoverability and contacts > and toggle on Sync address book contacts . If a friend joins X, they may be suggested in the "Who to follow" section.

1Tap your profile picture. This may also look like ☰ . You can only upload contacts using your mobile device.
- To find friends on X using a phone number or email address, you'll need to upload your contacts. Keep in mind that some contacts may have chosen to keep this information hidden, so they may not appear in your suggestions.

4Tap Discoverability and contacts . A new page will open.

5Toggle on "Sync address book contacts". The switch will turn green.
- When this is turned on, contacts will continually sync with X. When a contact joins X with a phone number or email address listed in your address book, X will suggest the accounts to you.
- To remove your contacts, toggle off Sync address book contacts . Then, tap Remove all contacts at the bottom.

6Review "Who to follow". On mobile, tap the magnifying glass icon and scroll down. On desktop, find this section on the right side of the page.
- Select a profile to view it fully.
- Select Follow to follow the user.
