Help me plan the perfect picnic date

I'm a big fan of low-key dates that are still fun and memorable, and a picnic sounds like a great choice. I'm a little nervous about setting it all up because honestly, I haven't gone on a picnic in a long time, and I really like this person. Are there must-haves I should bring? Activities to plan? Places or times to go? Clothes to wear? I'm open to any pointers you have!

You got to get the basics down and have a nice comfortable blanket to lay on and create a good, relaxing experience. Maybe you can bring a deck of cards or a games that you guys can have a little more fun.

I think it's really fun to do a little shopping together for your picnic. Go to a nice market where you can pick up all the little things together, like the food and drinks that you want, and then head right to a park afterward.

And then, when you get there, the idea of a picnic day is just to have a nice meal together and have a connection, have a conversation, relax, and just focus on those things.

I love putting together a charcuterie board for picnic dates! Some cheese, fruit, meats, nuts, and crackers are sooo good to snack on while lounging on a picnic blanket. I also bring wine in a tumbler so that it's easy to close it and not worry about spilling when we're not actively drinking from it.

If you want to impress your date, put in a little effort and bring 1 or 2 things that you made yourself. It can be sandwiches, dips, pastries, cocktails (or mocktails, if you don't drink), or anything that you can enjoy while on a picnic.

Make sure to check the weather! One time I planned a lovely picnic date with my girlfriend and we got rained on. Totally threw a wrench in our plans. Sometimes it's chilly or sunny and it's good to be prepared for those too. Bring an extra jacket for your date and some sunscreen, depending on the weather.

If the weather is nice, you can also have a chance to have fun with activities like playing frisbee or catch. I also like bringing a sketchbook and doodling with my girlfriend.
