This is a Rice Krispies treat recipe that uses a microwave method instead of a stove. It's very easy and appropriate for kids to try out.

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal (use any desired type of Rice Krispies)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (10 ounce) bag marshmallows or 40 mini marshmallows (4 cups)
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Steps

  1. Put a paper towel over the bowl just in case they enlarge. Depending on how many marshmallows you use and the size, it may take a little longer to melt them. Stir the marshmallow mixture each time you take it out.
    • Stir both ingredients together well.
  2. Stir and cover all of the marshmallow mix with the cereal.
