Editing Photoshop (PSD) files on the go can be difficult. Luckily there are a few apps that allow you to open PSD files on your Android phone or tablet. Some allow you to simply view a PSD file. Others allow you to edit the PSD file. This wikiHow article teaches you how to open a PSD file on Android.
How to Open a PSD File on Android
- There are plenty of free third-party apps on the Google Play Store that will allow you to open PSD files. Photoshop Express allows you to open PSD files from Creative Cloud.
- Autodesk Sketchbook is a paid app that can open PSD files and edit them using multiple layers and art tools. Then you can export the file as a PSD file.
- If the PSD file is in Google Drive, you can open it in the Google Drive mobile app on your Android.

Save the file to your Android. You can skip this step if the PSD file is already on your Android. Alternatively, you can save the file to your Creative Cloud storage. To make it easier to find, you should save the PSD file to your DCIM (Pictures) folder on your Android phone. Here's how to sync the file from your computer:
- Connect your Android to your computer with a USB cord.
- Expand the notification bar on your phone and select the option for transferring files via USB.
- Open Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows) and locate your Android folder.
- Open the folder on your computer containing the PSD file.
- Copy the PSD file from the computer to the Android folder.
- Disconnect the Android from the computer.

Open Photoshop Express. Photoshop Express has a blue icon that says "Ps" in the middle. Tap the app icon in your Apps menu to open Photoshop Express. Alternatively, you can tap Open in the Google Play Store once the app is finished downloading.

Open the PSD file. This will display the PSD file in Photoshop Express and allow you to make minor edits using the Photoshop Express features. Use the following steps to locate and open your PSD file in Photoshop Express:
- Tap the drop-down menu at the top (It most likely says "All Photos").
- Tap Device (alternatively, you can tap Creative Cloud if the file is saved to your CC storage).

Tap the Menu icon. It's the icon that resembles three dots and three lines in the upper-left corner.

Tap Import from Files . It's about halfway down the menu. It's next to an icon that resembles an arrow pointing down over a tray.

Select a file browser. If you are using a Samsung Galaxy phone, "My Files" is the default file browser app. If you are using a regular Android phone, tap the "Files" app.

Navigate to and select your PSD file. Use the file browser to navigate to the folder you saved the PSD file. Tap the PSD file to open it. Then tap Done at the bottom. You can now view and edit the PSD file in Sketchbook.
