  • Question
How do I come up with a POI?
    Penguinpencil
    Community Answer
Listen very closely to your opponent, and wait for slip ups on the spot- they're bound to slip up in the heat of the moment. Alternately, you can just ask them to deal with something you have said, or raise a simple question. Remember, POIs aren't really about what you say, it's about having the confidence to stand up that makes an impression on the judges.
  • Question
How do I answer if someone does not ask a question?
    Community Answer
Share whether or not you agree with the person's comment and why or further explain if the person is confused.
  • Question
What do I do if I accept a POI and then I can't answer the question asked?
    Community Answer
Admit you don't know and proceed to undermine the value of the inquiry itself.
  • Question
What should I say when I don't have an answer for a POI?
    Community Answer
Just decline that particular POI. Pretending that you have an answer when you don't can be worse than not answering at all.
  • Question
Is technology a curse to the new generation?
    Community Answer
It can be viewed as both a blessing and a curse, which is probably why you're debating it. Technology makes life easier and information readily available, but it can also draw our focus from what's important and can be used to hurt others in multiple ways.
  • Question
What should I say if I don't know the answer of a POI?
    Community Answer
You can say that you are going to answer that particular question later on in your debate and just pretend that you forgot to talk about that POI.
