QuestionIs it a good idea to fight Sans or do the genocide route in general?MATTHEW SCHIFSKYCommunity AnswerIf you want to see the alternate timeline, want to beat all routes 100%, or beat Sans for the thrill of it, go ahead. If you're into the game for just the community and would just rather watch a YouTuber or someone else do it, do that instead.

-
QuestionHow do I jump over the blue bones when fighting Sans?SunPuppyCommunity AnswerThe blue bone means you stay still and let the bone hit you. As long as you are completely still, the blue bone won't hurt you.
-
QuestionIs Sans easier to beat on a Pacifist Route?SunPuppyCommunity AnswerYou can't fight Sans on the Pacifist Route. He can only be battled on the Genocide Route.
-
QuestionCan I use bad time sim to practice also?FunTime FunWorldTMCommunity AnswerYes! That actually would be a great idea so it can build up your practice. It is one of the hardest parts in the game, and practice makes perfect. So, yes, go for it!
-
QuestionWhy does Sans do so much damage?FunTime FunWorldTMCommunity AnswerIt's because since he's the last part in the game (and one of the hardest besides Flowey). The creators wanted to make it difficult for those who play it. Clearly, it's a boss battle, so that's why it is hard to beat him. But, practice makes perfect! Try practicing with Bad Time Sim, or something that can build up your skills so it's easy to beat him.
-
QuestionWhy does Sans only have 1 HP?FunTime FunWorldTMCommunity AnswerSince he's one of the hardest characters to beat in the game, it takes a lot of time to just hit him once. They did not want to make the game too hard, so they made him 1 HP. It takes up to an hour to beat him for some, and up to 10 minutes for others.

QuestionI don't have Butterscotch Cinnamon Pie. Is that still okay?AtuaPraiseCommunity AnswerIt'll make the fight a little more difficult, but it should still be okay.

QuestionIs the Post Genocide route and Soulless Pacifist Route just the same?RobertCommunity AnswerThe two routes are definitely not the same. The Soulless Pacifist route can only be activated if you play a Genocide route and then a Pacifist route. The Post Genocide is just the end of a regular Genocide route.
-
QuestionHow many times do you need to die until Sans gets tired?Secretuser99Community AnswerYou don't have to die to win, you just need to keep fighting until he talks about his "Special" attack, once you see that, your almost there, once he says he will use it after this attack, after that attack, he will then start his special attack, once he uses it, you just wait until he falls asleep and move the border to "Attack".
-
QuestionHow do I get "that theme that might play when you battle sans"?Monica Sterne McGeeCommunity AnswerIt's completely by chance, much like the gaster Easter eggs, so there's no way to get it unless you hack the game.
-
QuestionI saw it was possible to spare Sans without getting killed. How do you do that?ZaneCommunity AnswerIt is impossible to spare Sans. The thing you must have seen was a fan-made video or an alternative storyline in fan works.
-
QuestionWhat happens after you beat Sans?ZaneCommunity AnswerHe goes off-screen and disintegrates. After that, you must move on to fight Asgore.
-
QuestionWhat defence should I use? I think his attacks negates defence, so should I use the apron or something else?SamuelCommunity AnswerThe Stained Apron cannot be obtained during a Genocide Route (AKA the route where you fight Sans), and you are exactly right, defense does not matter at all. But one thing you can equip for protection is the Burnt Pan, for using consumables with it equipped heals an extra 4 HP.
-
QuestionWhat weapon/armor is optimal?SamuelCommunity AnswerSince only 1 hit by any weapon will take him out, the strength doesn't really matter, but I would suggest the Burnt Pan, because whenever you eat food with it equipped you gain an extra 4 HP. Armor doesn't matter at all, for all of his attacks do the exact same amount of damage. In fact, if you still have it on, just use the bandage for comedic effect.
