  • Question
What are some activities to be more cheerful in class?
    Community Answer
Mentally prepare yourself by thinking positive thoughts and focusing on why you're there in the first place. Look for the good in your teacher and your fellow students. Try not to allow negativity to enter your mind.
  • Question
How do I do honors classes when I'm not smart enough?
    Community Answer
You have to put down video games and start studying your weak spots. You can do practice tests with family or teachers at study hall. Also, pay attention and take notes and you can learn everything.
  • Question
How do I get transferred into honors classes in school?
    Community Answer
Talk to your guidance counselor. They will be best able to analyze the situation and decide if honors classes are an option for you.
  • Question
What if I'm not smart enough to do a task in school?
    Community Answer
Don't think of yourself as not being smart enough, just think of it as something you're having trouble understanding. Ask for extra help from the teacher or from one of your classmates.
  • Question
I want to be one of the honor students, but I have trouble concentrating and following what the teacher is saying. What do I do?
    Community Answer
Take notes while the teacher is talking. If you're not a good note taker, or if taking notes makes you lose track of what the teacher is saying, ask a classmate if you can borrow their notes. You can also form a study group with some classmates to discuss the material, and you can even look up the topic on your own online to learn more about it (just make sure you're visiting reputable websites). If all else fails, talk to your teacher(s), they may have some good tips for you.
  • Question
I got a lower grade on a test after getting all high grades. Should I be worried about being an honor student?
    Community Answer
You should be fine. One test shouldn't hurt your grade. Just make sure to do all of your homework and class work. Next time just study more. Your grade should go back up quickly.
  • Question
Do I have to study after the school year in order to maintain my rank in the honors list for the next school year?
    Community Answer
You don't have to but it will probably help, especially if you know what kind of subjects/materials you'll be learning next year. You can get a head start on learning it and be ahead of everyone else.
  • Question
When the class lesson is too mind numbing to give enough attention to, how do I make sure to stay at the level of an honor-roll student?
    Community Answer
Find a way to ignore the boring stuff in the class, unless it's the lesson. When being in the class, find a fun way to remember the teacher's talking, such as making a doodle that represents what they said about a subject.
  • Question
Do I need to skip my birthday party in order to study?
    Community Answer
No, you should not think that you need to skip your own birthday party because of studying. Your birthday is very important to you and your close ones. If you really feel like your getting bad grades, then try to find more time to study but your birthday should not be affected by your studies.
  • Question
Due to the coronavirus, all schools were closed (including mine). The grade book shut down on the last school day before the shutdown. My grades would have been all A's if not for this. What can I do?
    Community Answer
Don't worry about it, it is likely they won't take those grades into account. Our school shut down, and they stopped assigning letter grades. We just had to finish our work and turn it in on time to get credit. It is likely you did well in school. Email your teachers with questions if you're concerned, but you should be fine.
