If your dog has gunk in its eyes, carefully soak the area with warm water and shampoo. Then, once it's softened, either wipe it away with a shampoo or comb it out with a flea comb. However, be careful not to comb too hard, since that area is usually raw from having debris stuck to it. Then, rinse the dog's face carefully. When you're rinsing the dog with a sprayer, use a low setting, or place the nozzle on top of the dog's head and let the water run down its face, being careful not to let the water get in the dog's nose.

QuestionMy bulldog keeps scratching his right ear and shaking his head as if something is in it. What can I do for him?Community AnswerI usually clean my dog's ears with a wet wipe, which seems to help. A q-tip or prescribed medicated wipe would work also. Be careful and consult your vet if this doesn't help.

QuestionMy English bulldog is 13 months and is basically house trained. He doesn't have any accidents inside the house. However, he likes to pee a little bit on his bed when he is bored. Is it normal?Emmylou PruittCommunity AnswerIf he is accidentally peeing on himself, it is possible that he has a UTI. It is not normal for a house-trained dog to pee on his bed. It can be cleared up easily with an antibiotic if you take him to the vet and it ends up being a UTI.
