QuestionIs it normal to bleed after two weeks?Community AnswerYes, but be careful as it could be infected. Check with a piercer or doctor if you can, and clean regularly. Don't remove the piercing to clean it even if you think the hole is infected; this will cause more irritation and make it harder to insert again.

QuestionI've had my piercing done 6 months ago now and I have a red bump. It normally goes down quite small and is my normal skin color but then flares up here and there I just can't get rid of it. What can I do?Community AnswerYou might have a bacterial infection or the scar tissue around the piercing might be inflamed. The piercing is already quite old so you should not be having any healing issues unless you have a cheaply made nickel jewelry in it. Change your ring to a titanium one and your symptoms might go away on their own. Otherwise, go see a doctor.

QuestionI got my nose ring done three weeks ago. I clean it every single day with warm water and sea salt but sometimes it hurts when I touch it is that normal?Community AnswerI had mine done about 5 or 6 weeks ago and this is the first week that it's stopped hurting, so I think you should be fine. Just make sure to keep rinsing it out. As long as it doesn't look infected I think it being a little tender is still normal.

QuestionCan I just clean it with hot water?Skærvind ·Community AnswerI wouldn't recommend using hot water for a fresh piercing, as it can be pretty uncomfortable. You're recommended to use saline solution or a sea salt/water soak (maybe half a teaspoon of sea salt dissolved in around 8 ounces of warm water, not hot), around two to three times per day. After you've soaked for five to ten minutes (or sprayed with a wound wash or sea salt solution), you can gently use a q-tip to brush away some of the "crust" that forms around your piercing. Don't twist it around, as this will irritate your skin and may make healing time longer.

QuestionI pierced my nose almost 1 week ago. It's very much yellow discharge and it is hardened. While cleaning, I can't remove the yellow discharge. Is it fine? I am using a diamond ring.Ashlynn VCommunity AnswerClean the discharge and the wound itself and schedule a doctor's appointment to make sure there's no infection or signs of infection. Piercing your own nose is dangerous and makes you highly susceptible to infection.

QuestionMy piercing hurt then I removed the rust jewelry from it thinking it is the cause of it and replaced it with a new one. My nose bump recurred, why? Am I safe?Community AnswerJewelry should not rust. If it does, it will cause skin problems. Try buying pure metal pieces, like original silver or gold jewelry. Silver studs are very reasonable and easily available in jewelry stores or accessory stores. Make sure you specify pure metal and if it rusts, take it back to the shop and have it exchanged or replaced. Make sure the nose remains wet or moist inside. So, it should be given the best care after piercing. Keep it washed twice daily. Wash your jewelry too. Clean the pierced hole by inserting the jewelry inside. Keel it dry then.

QuestionMy stud looks like it’s sinking into the piercing, is that normal?Community AnswerNo. The hole is usually very tiny. And the stud is the width thin needle or thread. Does your stud actually come out from the inside as it sinks in or it just look like it is sinking? Either your piercing is bigger or the stud is too thin. It's not a problem because piercing tends to join back if no accessory is put inside. If the hole is bigger, don't insert the stud for a night or a few nights, as you sleep, so the hole shortens. When you feel it is small enough to hold your stuff in place, you can wear your stud overnight as well.

QuestionCan I clean my new piercing with antibacterial soap instead of sea salt?Community AnswerYes. You can choose soap or face wash that goes directly on your face, without worrying.

QuestionCan a normal table salt soak help to reduce my bump?LilyCommunity AnswerMaybe, but probably not. It is not the same as a saline solution. Saline solution is fairly cheap, so I recommend you just get salon solution.
-
QuestionWill my piercing fall if I go on roller coasters?AshJ88Community AnswerYour nose stud shouldn't fall out as long as it's secured with a backing. If you're worried about it being loose, it doesn't hurt to have a piercer check to make sure it's completely secure.

QuestionI got my piercing 4 days ago it doesn't hurt at all not feels any pain. It's calm and it is itching, is it normal? QuestionIf I take out my nose ring and pus comes out (there’s also a bump inside and outside my nose), is that bad? In the first month I used hospital alcohol wipes to clean it, is that bad?Community AnswerIn using hospital wipes, it means you have taken all the moisture out of the piercing, therefore your skin cant adapt to the hole for the piercing and so it's remained an open wound. Clean it with salt water and leave it alone. It will begin to heal on its own now.
-
QuestionI got my nose piercing 4 days ago, can I change the ring?Community AnswerNo! You'll risk infection if you change it too early. Leave the original jewelry in for 6-8 weeks.

QuestionI just got my piercing yesterday, and I clean it 2 or 3 times a day so it doesn't get infected, do you think that will work?Community AnswerYou should be fine. Just follow all the aftercare instructions your piercer gave you, and keep an eye on it for signs of infection just in case (redness, swelling, pus, etc.).

QuestionWhat should I do if I used alcohol to clean the ring itself and then put it back into my nose? It is very painful recently.BodyBlingPiercingsCommunity AnswerRubbing alcohol is an excellent conductor from removing germs and preventing infection, but it is also a very harsh product to put on/in a piercing and it is probably aggravating yours. H20 Piercing Aftercare Spray is the best kind of piercing care spray that you can get. It contains a sea salt mixture which is gentle on your skin and helps promote healing.
