QuestionI'm doing what you said but no picture is showing on the TV, it keeps saying "no signal." What do I do?Rudy TothCommunity AnswerSome HDMI cables are compatible and some are not at all compatible. You might need to do a lot of switching to get a "signal" from one device to the other. If you have cable with HDMI inputs and outputs then you would use the supply HDMI cables from the cable company. Older versions of TVs don't have the HDMI inputs outside of the coax jack. Your cable runs to the cable box and your HDMI cable runs from the other side of the cable box to your HDMI input connector on your TV. You might need to adjust your TV settings to get that "signal" working.

If the TV has no HDMI ports, then you need to replace your TV with a more modern and newer model with HDMI ports. Read the specifications at the store before your purchase. Then you need to get the HDMI cable to connect to your DVD player and add a video to your settings on your new TV to "switch" over from cable to HDMI1 or 2.

QuestionI have old TV with no cable box (don't want one.) Trying to connect TV so that I will get local channels only. It is plugged in and coaxial is attached. But still getting no signal.Rudy TothCommunity AnswerThat's the problem in the digital world of today's standards. You can't anymore use rabbit's ears to get a local reception and most chain stores don't sell them anymore. Local channels have a specific transponder signal that only cable companies can have that access. In today's world, you need to let go of the old TV and coax wire antenna thing to get a cable box to get local channels. On the flipside, there's one more device that you can use? Its a digital signal receiver that attaches to your window and the wire goes into your coax jack to receive free TV signals up to a 100 mile radius.

Usually it is a transparent menu on the left side of the screen.

QuestionIf I connect my TV to home theater, no sound is transferred to the home theater. What is wrong?Aditya TelangCommunity AnswerMost of the time it is as simple as a cable coming loose or the speakers not being switched on. The cable may also be damaged, or you may have selected the wrong source. If you check all of this and everything's in order, see if your home theater works from other sources. If it does, then there may be an issue with the TV output. If it doesn't, then there may be an issue with the home theater.
