QuestionHow do I draw a good cartoon character?HoundsplashCommunity AnswerUse basic, non-detailed designs. For example, one of my stylized/cartoon characters has a very simple design and basic colors, especially around the face. Try to limit the complexity of cartoon characters. For example, look at a character like SpongeBob. Pretty easy to draw and identify, right? Basic. Now, look at complicated characters like some of the Transformers in the Transformers' movies. Nobody could draw that from memory, and it is complicated. Now, you don't want a stick figure with two dots and a smile, but non-complex character designs, like Steven from Steven Universe, or basically any character from SpongeBob, are better than complex designs.
