    Expert Answer
You can make any resume more interesting and make it stand out from the crowd by being creative, but I am not a big fan of lying. You should be very truthful. Only include what you've actually done, and find other ways to make your resume stand out, like being funny on it. You should also do more theater and study with really good people so you can build up your resume.

Pretty much, yes. It should include a professional headshot, any experience you've had (which can be from things like student films and independent films), and a quality resume.
  • Question
How can I become a good actor
    Community Answer
Try to understand the words in the script. If there is a word or phrase that you do not understand, don't be afraid to look it up. Put yourself in the character's shoes. Use hand movement and body language.
  • Question
If someone has no previous acting experience, has only performed on TikTok or other such apps, do they have a chance to get a career in acting?
    Community Answer
Maybe but it's not hugely likely. Do things that will actually help. For example, start by participating in community theatre as much as possible. When you are ready to create an acting portfolio, do not list things you have done on apps, as that is not real acting.
  • Question
What kind of photos should I click?
    Community Answer
A natural photo that shows your true self without any filters.
  • Question
So on the demo reel, if I am inexperienced and have never acted in any other movies, what exactly do I use? Do I need a demo reel in my resume?
    Community Answer
The odds are if you're interested in acting, you've done some acting before, even if it wasn't in a big budget movie. Any filmed stage productions, taped auditions, etc. can be used for your reel until you gain experience. Or if you don't have anything filmed, skip the reel until you have enough experience. Some places may dismiss you for not having one, but not every gig will.
  • Question
Do the casting directors takes money for making a portfolio and if yes, then how much?
    Community Answer
It fully depends on the casting director and the type of portfolio you will need created. If your portfolio is very large, or you are creating a portfolio that will take a lot of time, those elements will increase the cost. A standard portfolio by the average creator often costs between $30 and $120 (depending on their level of experience).
  • Question
So would all this count towards a 14-16 year old girl who just started.
    TIckley Pickle Wiggle
    Community Answer
Probably not. You can always start with any roles you have previously had in a school production, or anything you have acted in. You should definitely include your information and a headshot.
  • Question
At the audition, can they give me a script on the spot and say learn it and say it?
    Community Answer
Yes, they could do this, to test your on-the-spot skills. Just prepare to be ready for anything because that's what a great actor does––flexibility, believe-ability and strength!
  • Question
What type of professional photo shoot is necessary when creating a portfolio for acting?
    Community Answer
When directors are looking at your actor portfolio, they look for headshots (to look at facial features) and full-body shots (for body features).
  • Question
If you've done plays, could you include that in your demo reel?
    Community Answer
That's exactly what you should put in, especially if they were black box or in-the-round theater. However, if you're doing something presentational (i.e. Seussical), it may scare your directors off. Show your range, but be reasonable.
  • Question
How long would it take to get into an agency? I've contacted an agency and have done some school plays. I am also in classes and voice lessons right now.
    Grace Bennett
    Community Answer
If an agency doesn't reply to you within three months, then it is probably because you weren't accepted, most agencies are looking for great actors now instead of good actors who can be great. Try joining an acting program that does drama exams and showcases. That way, agents and mangers come to you. It is also great for audition practice. There are a lot of steps before you are considered for an acting role. You can become an actor without an agent but it will most likely be smaller roles. Apply to multiple agencies.
