    Expert Answer
Sulfates are harsh cleansers that are found in products like laundry detergents. They're harsh and drying for your hair, and they rough up the outer layer, or the cuticle. Luckily, a lot of hair companies have taken most of the sulfates out of their products and replaced them with other lathering products that are much less harsh.
  • Question
How do I make my hair less frizzy?
    Community Answer
There are many leave-in products, sprays, and conditioners to help tame frizz. My personal favorite is Kerastase Discipline Fluidissme Spray, but find something that works for you. Also, avoid brushing your hair as much as possible.
  • Question
How do I get my curly hair back?
    Community Answer
If you are referring to getting curls back from previously damaged hair, the best thing to do would be to try products specifically meant to revive and replenish damaged hair. Also, no matter what you've done to your hair, new hair that grows out should grow undamaged and new. The long term solution would be to get haircuts often to remove the damaged hair, then be patient for the new undamaged hair to grow in.
  • Question
How can I keep my hair from frizzing if I'm not washing it regularly?
    Community Answer
Make sure to wrap it up in a silk scarf or bonnet every night. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Make sure your hair isn't dry. Too much washing can dry your hair out, so play with different washing schedules to see what works best for you. Some people need once a week, some less often. Also, try not to play with your hair, as this will cause frizz.
  • Question
How do I prevent my hair from getting "pouffed" in the heat? When I'm in the sun, my hair starts to get really poofy and there are barely any curls.
    Community Answer
This is probably humidity. Search for products that are humidity shields and also use mousse in your hair right after you wash it, preferably curl-defining mousse.
  • Question
I have thin/fine hair that’s curly, but the curls aren’t very defined. Does anyone think it’s possible for me to get beautiful ringlets?
    Community Answer
I do! There are many ways to enhance those ringlets. Find a good curl defining creme, then put that in your hair with your leave-in conditioner. Next, you can plop your hair overnight for more definition. Look for a plopping tutorial on NaturallyCurly.com. Also, don't rinse your hair with cold water. It's actually harmful to hair growth. Finally, you should find out your particular curl type (3a, 3b, 3c). Each type is different. You'll find a way to get your hair defined.
  • Question
I have 4c hair and i don't want my curls to be too small. What can I do to fix this problem?

You could try a twist-out or use a three-row comb with mousse to define your curls.
  • Question
After my hair dries, it gets really poofy, and it’s straight. Why is that?

It’s possible that your hair doesn’t have a completely straight texture; instead, it may have soft, natural waves that give it a more textured appearance. These waves can add volume and movement, creating a beautiful and dynamic look.
