  • Question
How do I safely dismount from a men's bicycle with a rear baby seat attached?
    Community Answer
You would need to swing your leg over the frame in front of you so that you don't hit the baby.
  • Question
I don't have brakes on my bicycle, so how do I stop?
    Community Answer
You should put brakes on your bicycle, riding without them is unsafe. For now, if you're tall enough, simply put your feet down on the ground to slow, and then stop your bike.
  • Question
What if I crash after I place both feet on one side of the bike?
    Community Answer
You can jump backwards before impact if your reflexes are strong enough. Plant both of your feet in order to slow down, then right before the bike hits something, push off the front ball of your foot and backpedal.
  • Question
What if I lose my balance dismounting from the cycle? How do I prevent myself and the cycle from being harmed?

If you start to fall, you should just let go and fall. Don't try to brace yourself with your hands or you could injure your hands on the ground or parts of the bike. The bike is made to be durable, so a standing still fall will not hurt it. Your own safety is what should be considered first.

    Community Answer
As you are coasting/not pedaling, slide your foot with a jerking motion away from the frame of the bike. It is the easiest way to learn how to dismount.

If your bike is too large for you, you may be able to get a shorter stem or shorter crankarms to help. If the bike is still too large to dismount properly, you may have to step to your left to angle the bike closer to the ground to dismount safely.
