  • Question
How do I maintain my hair after dyeing it?
    Community Answer
Just keep using your purple shampoo and conditioner once a week to keep that white/silver look.
  • Question
How can I make it whiter?
    Community Answer
After you bleach it and it comes out yellow or a very brassy tone, make a mixture of white conditioner or shampoo and 2-4 drops of gentian violet and apply it to your hair. Only leave it on for a minute, then rinse it out.
  • Question
I have short white hair, I would like it to be gray or salt and pepper. Is this possible?
    Community Answer
Of course! The best way I can think of to achiever grey would be to buy a black or silver and mix it with a lightening solution or cream that you can buy to get it the desired color, or adding conditioner to it until you reach the color you want.
  • Question
I am using just Wella T14 toner on Gray hair to enhance the darker silver. What volume of peroxide would I use and how long should it process?
    Community Answer
If your toner came with instructions, it would be best to refer to those first. If not, you can use a 10 volume developer and let it process on the hair for no longer than 30 minutes.
  • Question
I have silver extensions, and l wanted to make them grey. What do I do?

  • Question
Once I dye my hair gray will I have to bleach it again to reapply? Or can I just reapply the color without bleaching?

You can do it as soon as a few hours after you decide you don't like it, but it would be much healthier for your hair if you wait a few days to a week.Just use a leave-in conditioner after you dye it back.
  • Question
My hair roots are white. I color it black. I want to go grey. What should I do?
    Community Answer
The best thing would be to dye your hair gray instead of black. Be sure to first bleach your hair before using gray hair color: that way the color will be more vibrant.
  • Question
My hair naturally is salt and pepper, but has been colored blonde and very light brown. It has grown out by about two inches, and I would like to go back to salt and pepper. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Just let it grow out and, as it grows, cut the dyed ends.
  • Question
I have medium-brown hair color. I was reading tips on another site, and it said for brown hair I'm to use a 40 developer. Other sites say use 10, 20 or 30. I'm super confused now; do I use a 40?
    Community Answer
Never use a 40 developer, as that can be highly damaging to your hair. A 30 will do the trick just fine.
  • Question
Is there any boxed gray hair dye you can buy with just one step to it? What about Got 2b Silver/Gray Metallics?
    Bunnie Harper
    Community Answer
The Got2b Metallics aren't a great option for this, they (and all box dyes) are usually more damaging to your hair and aren't as easy as some fashion color dyes such as Good Dye Young, Arctic Fox, Irio, and others you would find at a beauty supply shop.
