QuestionCan I catch flounder with a light and a spear?Community AnswerThis is the night method in knee- to waist-deep water. A sandy bottom will support your weight best. Hold the light at an angle pointed down, as the flounder's eyes may be the only part visible. Look for two bumps a few inches apart, and when you spear it, aim for between the eyes. Hold the spear a foot or two above the bottom so the tip won't have far to travel. Important: Be aware of any shark activity in the area, as spearing will cause blood to be released into the water and the shark can sense this.
-
QuestionShould I use live bait or artificial bait when fishing for flounder?Community AnswerBoth should work pretty well, but I use a D.O.A C.A.L white jerkbait on a red jig head. Bounce the jig along the bottom and wait for a strike.
