If you can stick to that, you will most likely loose much of the extra weight and THEN you will be in much better shape to be more active. It takes willpower, but it will definitely work.

Then add 5 or 10 minutes to each exercise session. The more vigorously you exercise, the more fit you will become. Work up to 60 minutes a day and include resistance training twice a week to maintain and build muscle.

Your body may have become complacent with your walks. Try to spice it up somehow. Consider seeing a doctor if fatigue interferes with your lifestyle. Try to rev up your metabolism by building muscle mass and consider activities which get your heart rate above 80% of your Heart Rate Maximum. That can help boost the metabolism. Interval training is a great choice for people with slow metabolisms.
