If your heart rate increases and stays consistently elevated by 65% or more, then you are burning calories. Does that happen for you in yoga? However, if you have a lot of stress, yoga can help relax you, and lower your cortisol levels, which may help you lose weight.

QuestionHow many times should I exercise daily?Community AnswerTwice daily is the maximum recommended amount (e.g., morning and afternoon). But remember to take regular breaks (one or two days a week) to let the body repair itself. You don't actually get stronger or fitter during exercise - you get stronger and fitter while your body is resting and recovering from the exercise you did recently!
-
QuestionHow long will it take me to get fit?Community AnswerIt will take time, according to your diet and exercising habits, and your own metabolism and physique, but it isn't possible to say exactly how long. If you stick to a fitness routine, you should begin to notice differences and improvements within weeks but it's up to your what level you take it to.
-
QuestionHow do I make my fat belly go away?Community AnswerStart a diverse exercise routine consisting of both aerobic exercises and weights. The combination of stamina building and fat burning will ensure that you are not only losing fat but building lean muscle. This will make you fit faster, and give you an all-around healthier look. No pill or miracle diet will do to your body what exercise and work can do, and they certainly won't be as rewarding!
-
QuestionWhat should I do to stay fit?Community AnswerKeep on working out often, but you can have more breaks and go back to your regular eating plan if you want to stay where you are on the fitness scale and not get any fitter. However make sure that you watch what you eat, and perhaps weigh yourself occasionally to check if you have gained any weight.

QuestionI have been working out for a couple of months now and I do eat healthy but my stomach fat doesn't seem to be going away. What can I do to lessen the fat around my belly?Top AnswererAre you counting your calories? Eating really healthy is great but it's all about how much. You can't work out a lot and then eat a lot, it defeats the purpose since you're replenishing all the calories and fat you just burned. Remember, to lose weight you need your calories in to be less than your calories out.
-
QuestionI think that I am fat, but my parents say that my height is alright for my age. I'm scared. I want to know how to look like all the other girls in my class. How do I get fit in less than a month?Community AnswerMost girls think they are fat at some point in their lives, but that does not make it true. Love how you look - you are beautiful and you are not meant to look like anyone else but yourself. What is healthy and happy for you, isn't necessarily healthy and happy for someone else and there is nothing wrong with that at all. If you would like to get a little healthier, explain to your parents that you would like to be healthier and happier and would like to eat better and exercise more.
-
QuestionWhat food should I eat to get fit?Community AnswerThere is no one type of food that is directly associated with becoming "fit," but there are foods that definitely give you a boost in reaching your goals. For example, grapefruit is an excellent food for weight loss because it contains acids and macronutrients. Starchy foods supply the body with energy because they are high in carbohydrates and fuel your body through exercise.

QuestionHow can I get motivated? I want to lose weight and get fit (really badly), but I don't know how to start.Tom De BackerTop AnswererUsually, people around you start noticing a difference after four weeks, and you yourself start noticing it after six weeks. So whichever way you look at it, you're going to have to go at it for at least six weeks. If you want to lose weight and get fit, get moving. No more fast food, no more alcohol, lots of water, lots of exercise, go to bed by 10:00 PM and get up before 7:00 AM every day, even on the weekends. Eat fruits and vegetables, eat lots of fiber, and work out. Keep it up for the first six weeks without the reward of seeing results. Then keep it up for the rest of your life.
-
QuestionI go to school, so how many times should I exercise each day?Tom De BackerTop AnswererMuscles heal and grow when they are not used. If you do squats every day, your legs never heal nor grow and it becomes useless to exercise them. You can alternate workout days and rest days, or at least don't workout the same muscle group two days in a row. So to answer, 3 - 4 workouts a week should be fine.
-
QuestionIf you are a child should you do this? Is there a chance of damaging my body?Community AnswerIt depends on your age. If you feel like you are able to do exercises, there is no limit. Stay away from weights and heavy equipment like treadmills unless supervised by an adult. Riding your bike and swimming are exercise and you should be fine doing simple things like sit-ups, push-ups, etc.
-
QuestionShould I take supplements after I eat?Community AnswerNot necessarily! Supplements don't do much to help lose weight, especially if you aren't pairing them with exercise anyways. If you want to take supplements, make sure you're doing a healthy mixture of aerobics and weights to ensure the proper calorie amount is being burned to help you lose weight and build lean muscle.
-
QuestionWhat should you eat to get healthy?Community AnswerEat greens and foods high in the vitamins you need. Use a food tracker to note what you are consuming. Beware that many fruits contain high sugar levels and can cause weight gain, so limit your fruit intake. Eat proteins like lean meats, eggs and legumes. Take a multivitamin.
-
QuestionHow can I stop eating too much rice? It's kind of hard since I'm Asian.Community AnswerStop eating white rice and maybe try brown rice and quinoa. Otherwise, just try to manage your portion sizes.
-
QuestionWould smoothies be a good idea for healthy dieting?Community AnswerSmoothies can be good for you. However, even natural fruit smoothies will contain a lot of sugar. Try adding vegetables to balance them out a bit.
-
QuestionI am lazy, what if I don't want to exercise?Community AnswerUnfortunately, everyone really needs to exercise to be healthy and in shape. However, even if you're lazy, there are so many things you can do. It doesn't have to be running or pumping iron. Try to find an exercise that you find fun, such as dancing or boxing. Almost everyone has some activity that they enjoy, so keep searching for yours. You can also choose lighter workouts that are less stressful, such as walking, or doing yoga or pilates. Keep the workouts short if you need to. You can probably manage to commit to a 15 or 20 minute workout, it doesn't have to be 1-2 hours each time. Anything is better than nothing! If you don't like the gym, work out at home using videos or an app.
-
QuestionCan getting fit take minutes or even hours?CrystalCommunity AnswerNo, it takes a lot of time and consistent work. You need a balance of cardio exercise and weight workouts.
