    Start by drinking more water. If that doesn't help, take a warm to hot bath or go for a 20 minute walk, and follow that with gentle leg stretches.     There's not any one cause of leg cramps. You may be dehydrated, or you may get enough to drink but you've just been more active than usual. Also, if you have back problems where nerve compression is part of the issue, you may be more prone to leg cramps.
