  • Question
Will speed reading make my teachers think I'm cheating on tests?
    Tom De Backer
    Top Answerer
There is much debate about the effectiveness of speed reading. You cannot continue to increase your reading speed and maintain comprehension at the same time. If you read faster and faster, comprehension will drop, which will affect your grades. Your teachers may not think you're cheating, but you may find that your grades begin to suffer as a result of speed reading.
  • Question
Why is reading hard for some people?
    Community Answer
They may not enjoy it or feel a need to learn it. Lack of attention span can make this worse, or dyslexia and similar conditions.

    Donagan

There's no reason it couldn't apply to fiction, although most people read fiction for fun or entertainment and don't care as much about speed.

  • Question
How can I tell if someone is having trouble reading?
    Community Answer
Ask them to read something out loud to you, or if you want to be more subtle, ask them questions about what they're reading. If they can't answer the questions, they're probably having trouble.
  • Question

  • Question
How can someone be the best in any field?
    Mzm555
    Top Answerer
Many experts and bloggers will have countless tips, advice, and strategies for this. Most simply go back to the root of "Working hard, Studying hard, and Finding (or observing) a Mentor." Being considered "the best" or even "very good" in any single field takes lots of hard work and practice - you must understand and accept you will make a lot of mistakes and failures, and that you may not even be considered "good" for quite a long time.
