QuestionWhat is the point of merging a document?Community AnswerIf two people are working on the same document at the same time, you will end up with two conflicting revisions. Both may have started from the same base version of the document, but through their separate work, they have created two different, revised versions. The point of merging is to combine the changes of both contributors into a new, complete revision of the document. The merging process compares what was changed in each version of the document, and tries to automatically create a new document combining all changes from all editors. Manual intervention may be necessary, if, for example, two authors changed the same sentence in different ways.

QuestionI want to know if it's possible to keep the page numbering of multiple documents when combining them. I cannot seem to be able to find this anywhere online. I tried it the few ways I could think of, and failed. Can it be done?Community AnswerIf you mean merging documents sequentially: First, go to the end of Doc A. Hit Enter a few times. Scroll up to end of text, down two lines. Insert a section break. Now, use that location to merge in Doc B. A should have it's numbering, B should restart at page 1. Continue for all docs in your anthology. For your TOC, you will need a unique header text format (font, size) so it can pull that into the TOC.
