    Expert Answer
You should contact your vet to get some prescription chewable prevention medicine. Usually, the best prevention is to keep up with the medicine maintenance, especially if your area has a flea and tick problem.
  • Question
What do I do if my puppy already has ticks?
    Community Answer
Get them started on a tick preventative immediately. To get rid of the ticks already attached, dip a Q-Tip in tea tree oil and hold the it against the tick's head and your dog's skin. It should emerge somewhat after about 10 seconds, so be prepared with a tweezers to pull the tick out completely.
