Double-click your home button if your device has one, then swipe up on each app. If you don't have a home button, use your finger to swipe up from the bottom, similar to how you swipe up to minimize an app. However, when you swipe up, don't release, but keep your finger on the display until the menu pops up revealing all your background apps. From there, you may swipe up on each app to close it.

1. Keep your phone cool while charging. If you have a case on your phone, remove it while charging. If the battery gets too hot, it will lose some of its maximum capacity. Disable system animations: Open Settings and go into "General." Tap "Accessibility" and then tap "Reduce Motion." Toggle it into the "on" position. You can also try turning off location services when not in use.

Turn off Siri feedback from apps. Even after doing all the things suggested here it only improved my battery life by about 25%. It would still go down from 90% charged at 9 am to 30-40 % by noon, without me doing much on my phone. However, by chance (since I never use Siri because I don't like big brother listening in on my life) I went to "Siri and Suggestions" and turned off every single app that sends feedback to Siri even though I had Siri turned off. My battery life improved by 80%!
