Usually, there's a solid blue wireless light on most printers. If it's blinking, that usually means wireless was connected, but now it's not. Try reinstalling your drivers, too. Go to the website and download the newest drivers, like you just bought the printer brand new. Install everything all over again, and most of the time, you'll be back up and running.

QuestionHow can I get my laptop to recognize my printer?Luigi Oppido is the Owner and Operator of Pleasure Point Computers in Santa Cruz, California. Luigi has over 25 years of experience in general computer repair, data recovery, virus removal, and upgrades. He is also the host of the Computer Man Show! broadcasted on KSQD covering central California for over two years. If your laptop won't recognize your printer, check the IP address of the printer. If you set your IP address to be static, then you upgrade your modem, the new modem may not be able to locate the printer. Turn off the static IP setting and let the DHCP hand the printer a new IP address. Then, you can make it static again. Or, you may want to upgrade your router. One of the main problems with wireless printing is using an older router or router-modem combo. Printing sends an incredible amount of data quickly, and that data can get clogged in an older router. If your router is more than 2 or 3 years old, or if you're using the standard router and modem from your ISP, you may need to upgrade that.

QuestionIf my laptop was connected wirelessly to a printer in one state, can still print to it at a distance?Community AnswerNot easily, and not through the wireless connection you've established. You would have to set up a remote printing solution, which your printer software may facilitate. It can be done, but may require a lot of tweaking in your printer software and router to get working.
