Television can provide mental stimulation and social company to a parrot; however, it can also teach them bad habits. Some will 'chat' to the TV and learn to become very noisy as a result. If the volume is up high, this can be uncomfortable for the parrot's hearing. Ideally, site the bird at a distance, but be sure to provide plenty of social interaction with the bird, such as regular play and training sessions, and plenty of interactive toys in the cage for the parrot to amuse itself.
