Movie makers are slow. Fet all the videos, and put them together, and when you save it might take a few hours for it to complete and it will be larger size (for example a normal two hour movie might be 2GB, but a two hour movie maker movie might be 10GB).

How do I add an image without it breaking up the clip? I want to keep the audio (people talking), but display a picture instead of the people for part of the video.

I use Audacity (free program) to pull the audio completely out of the finished movie. Save it as an mp3. Start the movie again and silence the audio. Split your movie, add your picture. Time the piece you took out. Your added pic should be the same seconds. Then add the mp3 at the beginning. Save.
