That depends. If it's one of the original bulky ones that accepts the discs in the lower right next to the big word that says POWER and flip that up. The smaller PSP GO will be in the same place, but one of the 2 models requires you to hold the switch up.

How do I insert the battery?

Turn your PSP on the side with the UMD drive so the PSP logo is facing you. You should see that it's split up into a left part and a right part by the drive. On the side of the left part (which has a small Sony logo engraved into it and is made of black colored plastic), you should see a small button. Press it, and the cover should come off and reveal the place where you put the battery.

You can't, but you can play Vice City Stories or Liberty City Stories. You can get custom firmware and emulate the PS1 and play GTA 1 and 2. (You might be able to even play GTA London.)
