  • Question
How do I contact Verizon and make them do what I want them to do?
    Community Answer
File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After 6 months of ongoing problems, false promises, and inability to get a hold of a manager, supervisor, or anyone who could escalate the problem, I filed a complaint with BBB and got a response from BGCO Executive Escalations at Verizon, with a direct phone number and email for a singular contact who was willing, and able, to address my problems.
  • Question
How can I get a copy the contract I signed and agreed on?
    Community Answer
Log into your MyVerizon account and click on the "receipt" link under the My Billing tab.
  • Question
Is there really a $35 restocking fee on returned merchandise?
    Community Answer
Yes. That is a standard industry practice. Once you purchase a device, it can no longer be sold as a new device which means it can only be sold for a percentage of the normal retail price. The $35 fee helps to recover some of that revenue loss.
  • Question
I have been treated rudely, consistently. What can I do?

  • Question
What do I do if Verizon did an unauthorized withdrawal and overdrew my account?
    Community Answer
Call the number on your bill and tell them what happened. They should be able to clear this up for you, and hopefully give you a credit. If you don't have a contract, you can also threaten to leave, this will make them more likely to help you. If none of these work, just go to your local Verizon wireless store and explain the problem to them.

Verizon had me send back a tablet and said when they received it I would get a credit for it. Now they want me to pay for the tablet, but they will not send it back. I am elderly and feel that I am being taken advantage off. How do I proceed?

  • Question
I bought a phone and returned it in Oct. I had set up a prepayment from my credit card. I assumed when I returned the phone that they would cancel the service. They did not. What should I do?
    Community Answer
Phone and service contract are two different things. If you signed up for service, you have a line. That line requires monthly subscription, around $40. If you want to cancel the line shortly after starting, you will pay a cancellation fee. Contracts usually ends after 24 months, but if not, then if you just want to cancel the line, you pay. That goes with any cell phone service provider you go to. It is not exclusively for Verizon.
  • Question
How can I verify that I have an unusually high data rate this month?

  • Question
What do I do if I was overcharged by a Verizon Wireless vendor?
    Community Answer
I highly recommend you keep each and every month's statement (paper or digitally) on file; it's well worth it for you down the road, simply because most of the mistakes Verizon make are the same mistake and it is spread out over several months. Do your homework first; research when the wrong charges started; log it down and then call Verizon customer service with the total as well as the date and the reason for the charges. It's very important that you log the time and the date and the name of the agent who helped you. I highly recommend that you call as soon as you discover the wrong charges.

They shouldn't be suspending service at all if your bill is paid. Maybe try AutoPay, as you get discounts for having it as well. But call them to see why this is happening. If they cannot remedy things, find a new provider who can.
