Yet again, your alarm doesn't go off (or did you sleep past it?), and you rush into the bathroom to take your morning shower. As a young female (ages 7 to 13), there's a particular way to shower quickly, especially if your parents and siblings are banging for a turn in the family bathroom, (how you long for an en suite!) What do you do? Read this article to find out.

  1. Towel, hairbrush, clothes, etc. Fold up your clothes neatly, place them next to the shower, and line up all of your things. This saves time because you can quickly get dressed and prepared for the day (or night).
  2. You might tell yourself only this little bit, but it is easy to get lost up in your daydreams.

  3. The hot water also helps to open your pores.
  4. Most girls waste time in the very beginning of their shower because they take too long savoring the warm water.
  5. This gives your shampoo time to seep into your scalp. [1]
  6. [2]
  7. Keep your facewash on your face for at least 30 seconds to let it cleanse your pores. [3]
  8. It is best to turn the shower off while doing this, as it saves water. You might be a little cold at first, but think of the planet (and your water bill)!
  9. When you are done, let it sit while you brush and floss your teeth in the shower. Be sure to have a cup so you can rinse out your toothpaste.
  10. [4]
  11. Get out of the shower and begin to dry yourself. Start at the top. This way, no water will drip down from your neck or back onto your legs, forcing you to dry the already dry parts off. Also, remember to pat your face rather than rubbing it dry with a soft towel; this irritates your skin.
  12. [5] But don't apply deodorant. Wait at least 30 min. The reasoning for this is because your deodorant has chemicals that are only supposed to be used on top of your skin. Not the inside. [6]

That depends on a lot of factors, but in general, health experts recommend bathing or showering at least a few times a week. You’ll need to shower more often if you get dirty or sweaty, or if you have concerns about oily skin or body odor. You don’t have to do a thorough cleaning every time you bathe or shower—just make sure to focus on areas like your groin and armpits, where sweat and bacteria tend to build up.

Since dirt and grime tends to build up on your body during the day, you’ll get greater skin benefits from showering in the evening. It’s also a good idea to shower any time you get sweaty or dirty, or after you go swimming. If your hair gets tangled or unmanageable if you go to bed with it wet, dry it carefully after an evening shower or cover it with a cap and shower in the morning on shampoo days.

      Warnings

      • Make sure you are awake enough to do this. If you aren't, you may cut yourself shaving if you shave, or slip on the shower floor!
      • Don't lock the door if you are taking a shower with trustworthy people in the house. It may provide privacy, but if you fall, it will keep emergency representatives from getting to you.
      • Washing your hair every day can lead to breakage. So instead only wash every other day. That does not mean skip a shower every day. Still take a shower, just don't wash your hair.
      • If you buy a mat with suction cups so you won't fall; be careful, it could grow mold so clean weekly!
