You've just gotten a pair of wrap pants—but how exactly are you supposed to keep them in place without them falling down? We've got you covered. Read on for two full, step-by-step tutorials on how to wear and tie your new wrap pants that will give you that curvy look around your hips and accentuate your waist. In just a few minutes, you'll be rocking your new look!
Steps
-
Roll up the fabric if the pants are too long. Hold your wrap pants at waist level to check the length. If the fabric is dragging on the floor or you feel like you could trip on it, you'll want to roll it up. Try rolling the fabric once or twice to shorten the length. Once you tie the first set of strings on your pants, the rolls will stay in place.
-
Tie the fabric behind your back. Hold your pants in front of you by grabbing one string with each hand. Bring your hands behind your back and tie the strings together like you would tie an apron. [1] X Research source
- The pants should be snug around your waist.

Pull the hanging fabric through your legs. After tying the first strings together, you should be left with fabric and two more strings hanging down in front of you. This is the back of your pants. Take the fabric and pull it between your legs so it ends up behind you. [2] X Research source
-
Gather the fabric behind your back. You should be able to reach down behind you and grab the hanging fabric from between your feet. Pull the fabric up behind your legs, bringing it to waist level. The pants should now cover the back of your legs.
- Make sure the fabric isn’t twisted or bunched up, as this will make the pants uncomfortable and harder to tie correctly.
-
Tie the strings in the front. Starting from behind your back, take one string in each hand and wrap them around your waist. Tie the strings together in the front and make sure they’re secure. [3] X Research source Congratulations, your wrap pants are complete!

Fold the cloth in half. When you open your Thai wrap pants, they will look like one big piece of cloth with four strings attached. Simply fold the cloth in half and they will begin to resemble pants. [4] X Research source Since the cloth is symmetrical, you can fold it either lengthwise or vertically.
- The strings should line up when the cloth is folded.
-
Drop the front of the cloth. Hold the pants in front of you and drop the front two strings so half of the cloth falls to the ground in front of you. You should be left holding onto one string in each hand. The rest of the fabric will be on the floor in front of you. [5] X Research source
-
Take the cloth behind you. Move the pants so the fabric is behind you. Wrap it around your waist and tie the strings together in front. [6] X Research source At this point, you might feel like you have a giant cape tied around your waist.
-
Pull the other end of the cloth through your legs. Move the fabric through your legs from behind. Now the free-hanging fabric should be in front of you. Take one string in each hand and pull the material up to waist level. [7] X Research source
- Make sure the cloth isn’t twisted.
-
Tie the strings behind you. Wrap the strings around your waist and tie them in the back. The pants should look smooth in the front with a flap in the back. You have now successfully tied your Thai wrap pants!
