Shutting Down a Kindle Paperwhite

Press and hold the power button for 7 seconds, then select “Screen Off” to completely shut down your Kindle Paperwhite.

  1. The Power button is at the bottom right part of the device beside the USB port.
  2. Do this for about 5 to 7 seconds until the charge indicator light beside the Power button blinks.

  3. The screen will go blank after pressing and holding the Power button; as soon as the screen goes blank, release the Power button.
