1Know that there are no specific progress requirements for unlocking Pauline. 2Enter the hot air balloon if you haven't done so already. You will need to use the hot air balloon to unlock Pauline. The hot air balloon is located in the Party Plaza, right next to the "Online Match" machine, on a platform. To enter it, climb the stairs. When the buttons appear on screen, press the right button, as indicated (it will be colored in yellow), to enter the hot air balloon.

- When you enter the hot air balloon, a cutscene will begin. To skip it, you can press either the plus or minus button (depending on which controller you're using - if you're playing the game in handheld mode, you can press either button).

4Zoom in on the islands using your controller's top button. Once you've located the area by Minigame Bay that has Pauline in it, use your controller's top button to zoom in.
