Open Snapchat .
Tap the the speech bubble icon.
Tap a username.

Snapchat's icon is yellow with a white ghost in it.
It's located at the bottom left corner of the screen. Doing so will open the Chat screen.

Tap on a username. A conversation screen will appear with that user, allowing you to see new messages from them.
