Food & Drinks
* Don’t use straws.
* Eat only soft foods.
* Stay away from spicy, crunchy, chewy, brittle, hot, and acidic foods.
* Don’t drink alcohol.
* Don’t drink sugary, caffeinated, or carbonated beverages.
* Chew on the side of your mouth opposite the extraction site, if possible.
Tobacco
* Don’t smoke, vape, or use chewing tobacco.
* Make sure to avoid smoking anything, not just tobacco.
* Use a nicotine patch if you cannot go several days without tobacco.
Hygiene
* Wait 24 hours before brushing the site of the extraction.
* Keep your mouth clean by rinsing and gently brushing your teeth.
Rest
* Take some time to rest and recover after your extraction.
* Avoid activities, such as contact sports, that could injure your mouth.
