In 2011, I received my black belt in Karate after 14 years of dedicated practice. As a result, I have been able to begin teaching martial arts to students at the South Bay Community Center. My goal is to instill in my students the skills to be excellent leaders, collaborators, and citizens. This is a goal I am working toward and have learned more about through my Karate practice. I am enjoying giving back to the next generation in this way.
I also spend time volunteering at the Red Cross in Torrance, California each month. There I do a variety of tasks including feeding the homeless, providing assistance with blood drives, and teaching classes about disaster preparedness. Both service activities have contributed greatly to my life and wellbeing.
