Beer: Depending on the number of guests you have coming, you may want to purchase a keg of beer, or several cases of your favorite craft and conventional beers. Sam Adams or Heineken make popular keg beers. If you’re going to buy bottles or cans, choose a variety of styles: lager, ale, stout, and IPA, and throw in some cider as well if you know you will have guests who like it. Wine: It’s nice to have several varieties on hand, including reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines. You can buy good quality box wine too, which is more budget friendly and better for the environment if you plan on going through a lot of bottles. Sangria: Combine 2 diced apples (core removed), 1 diced orange (seeds removed), the juice of 1 lemon, 1 bottle of red Spanish wine, ¼ cup brandy, and ½ cup orange juice in a large pitcher, and stir to combine. Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours. Serve over ice. Lemonade Rum Punch: Combine 2 cups lemonade, 1 cup pineapple juice, and 1 cup coconut rum in a large pitcher, and stir to combine. Chill. Serve over ice, and top each glass with 1 oz. of a dark rum floater to make a cool ombre effect. Margaritas: To make large-batch ‘ritas, combine 2 cups tequila, 1 cup orange liqueur, ¾ cup fresh lime juice, and ¾ cup simple syrup in a large pitcher. Rim glasses with salt, add ice, pour the mixture in, and garnish with fresh lime wedges. This festive drink will go fast!
