The Internet Connectivity Issue

Did you know that ⅔ of the people on the planet are still not connected to the valuable resources that internet connectivity offers?

We often take the internet for granted but we know that access to knowledge alone can offer a wealth of resources to those who need it most. Research shows that for every 10 people in the developing world who are connected to the Internet, one person gets lifted out of poverty and one new job gets created.

How this relates to the wikiHow Mission

Our mission at wikiHow is to give everyone (yes everyone) a free, practical education on how to do anything. To succeed we need to make wikiHow available to people who are new to the internet.

What is Free Basics?

We’ve teamed up with Facebook and dozens of mobile phone companies around the world to make wikiHow available without any data charges in developing countries. As part of the Facebook-led Free Basic Services, we’re helping make internet access available to two-thirds of the world who are not yet connected.
