  2. Visit a page that’s written in a language you cannot understand. Try searching Google for foreign websites, or if you already have one in mind, enter the URL in the search bar.

  3. It's to the right of the address bar at the top. It's the icon that resembles a folded sheet of paper. This icon should pop up automatically when you visit a website that is not in your default language.
    • If the Translate icon does not appear, right-click the page (or ctrl-click on a Mac) and click Translate to English or whatever your default language is.

Use the drop-down menus to select what language the website is written in, and what language you want to translate to and tap Translate .

Using Other Web Browsers

  1. If you want to use Google Translate in a different web browser besides Chrome, you will need to install an extension . The following are some Google Translate extensions you can use:
  2. To do so, click Add to Firefox or Get at the top of the page. Then click Add or Add extension in the pop-up menu. This will add the extension to your web browser.
  3. Visit a page that’s written in a language you cannot understand. Try searching Google for foreign websites, or if you already have one in mind, enter the URL in the search bar.
  4. It should be to the right of the address bar at the top of the page. Both extensions mentioned above have an icon that resembles an "a" next to a character from another language.
  5. If you are asked to select which language the web page is written in, select it from the first drop-down menu.
  6. Use the drop-down menu in the Translate box to select what language you want to translate the web page to.
  7. It's the blue button in the pop-up box. This will translate the entire web page using Google Translate.
