Steps

Open Sheets. It’s the green icon with a white outline of a spreadsheet. You’ll usually find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.

Select a spreadsheet.
- If you don’t want to use an existing spreadsheet, tap the + at the bottom-right corner of the screen, then tap New spreadsheet.

Tap a column letter. You’ll want to tap the letter of a column right next to where you want to add a new one. This selects the entire column.
- For example, if you want to add a new column before (or after) column D, tap column D .
- If you want to add a column to the left of column A, tap column A .

Tap + . It’s at the top-right corner of the screen. A menu will appear.

Scroll down and tap Column left or Column right .
- Column left adds a new column to the left of the selected column.
- Column right adds a new column to the right of the selected column.
