Quotev is a writing website where users publish stories and quizzes. Having an account gives you access to many more of the site's features. One of these is the option to create a journal through your profile, where you can write your thoughts or save your answers from a survey. This wikiHow will show you how to add an entry to your journal on Quotev.
Steps
Part 1
Part 1 of 2:
Creating a Journal Entry
-
1Access your profile. Select ☰ to open the sidebar menu. Find Profile and click it to be taken to your page.
-
2Find Journal . Under your username and profile picture (if you have one), you will see a row of buttons. Find the Journal option, which is the sixth option from the left, and click it.
-
3Click Add entry . Whether you've started your journal already or not, this option will be near the top-left. Select this to open up a new journal entry.
-
4Add a title. Click the textbox next to Title to type in a title for your journal entry. Make a title that relates to the content of your entry.
- If you're not sure what to write about yet, you can always go back and add a title later.
-
5Type your entry. Select the large textbox below the title to open the typing option. This will enlarge the textbox on your screen so you can see what you're writing. Once it opens, start typing your entry.
-
6Select Publish once you're finished. After you complete your entry, select Done in the top-left corner to return to the new entry page, and click the purple Publish button near the bottom to publish your entry.
-
7View your entry. By selecting Publish , you will be taken to your journal entry page. This page shows how your entry appears to readers now that it is published. Click anything on the screen to leave the page.Advertisement

Adding More Features
-
1Save surveys to your journal. After completing a survey, you will be taken to a page of the answers you submitted. If you scroll to the bottom of your answers, you'll find a button that says Post to journal . Select this, and a copy of your answers saved as a journal entry will open in a new tab. Edit any answers you wish to change, update the title if you wish, and click Publish to post the survey as a journal entry.
-
2Add formatting. While typing your entry, you may notice an arrow in the top-right corner. If you select this option, a menu will appear that gives you formatting features. These include text alignments (i.e. left, center, and right) and text formatting options, including bold, italics, underlining, and strikethrough.
-
3Stop notifications. As you view your journal entry, an arrow will appear in the top-right corner. Selecting this opens a dropdown menu with three options. By clicking Stop notifications , you will no longer be notified of anyone commenting on your journal entry.
- You can also use this dropdown menu to edit or delete the journal entry.
-
Edit who can view the journal entry. While on the new entry page, you can scroll down to find three options. These will enable different features for your journal entry. By selecting the first option, you can make a journal entry private to hide it from your followers. You can choose between showing your journal to everyone, people you follow, or just you.
-
Hide the title. The second option gives you the ability to hide the journal title. Toggle this if you wish to keep the title private.
-
Disable comments. If you wish to turn off the option for users to comment on your journal entry, toggle the third option to disable the comments. This way, no one can reply to the entry.Advertisement
