The best way to ask for a girl's number is to not ask so much as lead. Strike up a conversation the next time you see her. While you're talking, give her a compliment, like, "Hey, I enjoy talking to you, you're really funny, you're really witty, I've enjoyed this. Let's trade numbers," then take out your phone and assume that she feels the same way. Feel confident about it. Don't say, "Hey, can I please maybe get your number?" Instead, be confident and approach it with an attitude of, "Hey, of course we're going to trade numbers, we clearly like each other."

Remember that the phone number should be exchanged as a byproduct of a nice flirtatious connected conversation. It's not a trophy. It's not the reason for the conversation. It's simply a byproduct of two people connecting and getting closer, who want to see each other again.
What are the best ways to ask a girl out?
When asking out a girl, the key is to be confident and clear but not too direct. Being too direct would sound something like, “You're gorgeous and sexy and I want to date you.” That might make a girl feel uncomfortable. Instead, just be clear and say, "Hey, are you free for dinner on Thursday night? It'd be great to get to know you better.” This kind of invite makes it clear that you’re romantically interested in her.

Another old school thing that guys like is good quality alcohol, if he's a drinker. A good bottle of wine, good bottle of scotch or whiskey, are very popular with men. But again, personalize it, maybe you know what he drinks or what he likes. And I would say maybe the best gift of all is something that connects the both of you to each other, something that you enjoy together. That's a really good gift for a couple. Because it's then something that you could do together. Maybe you love game nights. You could give your boyfriend Cards Against Humanity, or Super Scrabble, or some fun game that you think that he would like, because not only are you giving him something he wants, you're also giving him something that he'll be able to experience with you.
