Countryballs (or Polandball) are an internet meme that originated in the 2010s. Members of the Countryballs fandom create humor by making funny, harmless stereotypes about countries. [1] People who draw countryballs draw balls with countries' flags on them. For example, UK Ball is always depicted with its Union Jack flag, donning a monocle and a top hat. They always use some British slang, such as "innit" and "chap". If you want to get into countryballs and how they work, read along!

Steps

  1. There are countless countryball animation creators on YouTube. These people mainly post about geography, history, and related satire. They may also play war games. They usually incorporate countryballs into their videos about these things. Some animators use countryballs in the place of country flags or the country's land when talking about wars. Search up "countryballs" to get countryball YouTubers to show up. You can get into small YouTubers and large, popular ones. Get started with some of these countryball YouTubers.
    • MrSpherical is one of the most well-known countryballs YouTubers.
    • PWA (originally known as PixelWolf Animations) is a countryballs animator from New Zealand.
    • Drew Durnil frequently reacts to countryball animations.
  2. You will probably know some iconic ones, such as the United Kingdom's flag, the U.S. and Canada's flags. You probably also know your own country's flag. But, oftentimes countryball animations feature other countries that you may not know. They won't introduce themselves by name in every video, so you will have to memorize them. So, try studying the flags of various countries. Dedicate some time during breaks or vacations to look at the different flags of various countries. Some other countries' flags that you will encounter include:
    • Australia
    • China
    • France
    • Russia
    • Japan
    • New Zealand (often confused with Australia)
    • Poland (Poland's flag is always upside-down in the countryballs lore, so memorize Indonesia's flag, which looks like Poland's flag upside-down instead)
    • Saudi Arabia
    • Spain

  3. Each Countryball is associated with various stereotypes of each country. These lightly poke fun at customs and traditions associated with the country. If you get exposed to countryballs, you will eventually memorize many countries' stereotypes.
    • Canadaball wears a fur cap sometimes. They are the typical "nice guy". They are very nice to each of the Countryballs. Unfortunately, this causes them to be bullied by their big brother, USAball. [2]
    • Russiaball does not have particular accessories they stick to. They are very secretive, and they always address their fellow countryballs with "comrade". Russiaball is shown to be very fond of vodka and Russian brown bears. [3]
    • UKball always wears its monocle and top hat. They usually act politely and love sipping tea. They use a lot of British slang, including "innit", "lad", and "chap". They frequently argue with their son, USAball. [4]
    • USAball always wears sunglasses. They are obsessed with guns and freedom. USAball is also portrayed to be less intelligent and more arrogant than the other countryballs. [5]
  4. Some are more difficult to draw depending on their flag designs. For example, it is probably not practical to manually draw all 50 stars on the US Countryball, unless you are drawing it digitally (so you can copy and paste the stars). For countryballs with stripes on their flags, divide a circle into 2, 3, or 4 sections. Divide them equally by measuring the diameter of the circle, then dividing it into 2, 3, or 4. Then, color each stripe based on the flag's design.
    • Search online for any tutorials relating to drawing countryballs.
    • You can also draw 3D Countryballs, but these will be more complicated to draw. Try sticking with 2D countryballs for now.
  5. There is a whole Polandball lore that exists, so try to learn as much about this as possible. Learn about individual countryballs, their universe, and the main antagonist/villain of Polandball. For example, the Reichtangle is the main villain of Polandball. They represent a theoretical future "Fourth Reich", which means another totalitarian dictatorship. [6] .
    • Israel is always depicted as a cube in countryballs, so it is referred to as "Israelcube" instead of "Israelball". [7]
    • Polandball's flag design is always drawn upside down, so it frequently gets confused with other countries, usually Indonesia or Monaco. [8]
